सुनील लम्सालको राजनीतिक जग अनेरास्ववियूको विद्यार्थी राजनीतिबाट सुरु भएको हो, जहाँ उनी २०११ मा लुम्बिनी इन्जिनियरिङ कलेजको स्ववियू सभापति निर्वाचित भएका थिए। विद्यार्थी राजनीतिमा सक्रिय रहँदा नै उनले नेतृत्व र सांगठनिक क्षमता प्रदर्शन गरिसकेका थिए। २०६२/६३ को ऐतिहासिक जनआन्दोलनमा सहभागी भएर उनले आफ्नो राजनीतिक चेतनालाई थप निखार्ने अवसर पाए। हाल राष्ट्रिय स्वतन्त्र पार्टीको महामन्त्रीको रूपमा उनी पार्टीको केन्द्रीय रणनीति र संगठन विस्तारको प्रमुख योजनाकारका रूपमा सक्रिय छन्। बालेन्द्र शाहसँगै रास्वपाको अभियानमा जोडिएका उनले छोटो समयमा नै वैकल्पिक राजनीतिको एक प्रमुख अनुहार बन्न सफल भएका छन्।
